Our History

1865

Harvard Union is Founded

In 1865, Harvard Union was founded with the mission to promote debate and discussion on campus. Since then, we have grown to become one of the most respected debate societies in the world.

1890

First Intercollegiate Debate

In 1890, Harvard Union participated in the first intercollegiate debate in the United States, paving the way for the development of college debate in America.
